Eye Exam

Our Doctors of Optometry take great pride in providing comprehensive and emergency eye care to all individuals ensuring the highest quality of care and personalized service. Our doctors take the time to listen to their patients, and address any concerns, answer any questions, and provide the best vision health care possible.

At Westminster Optometry Clinic we feel our patients deserve the best. As a result we include advanced testing and imaging in all our full diagnostic eye exams. We know that these tests are not offered in many offices and if they are many offices charge extra for them but that is not our way.

Orthokeratology

A form of Ortho-Keratology, CRT is a non-surgical approach to freedom from daily glasses, and contact lens wear. It is ideal for eyes that are near-sighted, have mild astigmatism, or may be dry and uncomfortable when wearing regular daily contact lenses.

All contact lenses will put pressure on the cornea, and reshape the front of the eye to varying degrees. Hard contact lenses will do this more than soft lenses. CRT utilizes this principle to gently change the shape of one’s cornea while they sleep, allowing them to go about their day without contacts, or glasses. This procedure is not permanent when not wearing the CRT contacts for 1-2 weeks the eye slowly regains it’s former shape. No needles, no incisions, no fuss.

Make an appointment today for a comprehensive eye exam and talk with our doctors about whether or not CRT is an option for you!

Dry Eyes

People with dry eyes suffer from a range of symptoms, ranging from mild fluctuating discomfort, to constant scratching irritated eyes. It is now known that mild inflammation is a large contributing factor for all dry eyes. The causes of dry eyes are varied and include certain medical conditions, medication use, over-use of certain ‘over-the-counter’ eye drops, environmental causes and individual factors. Our doctors employ a step-wise approach to managing dry eye symptoms.

Visual Field Testing

Visual Field Tests are used to check an individuals peripheral vision. They give insight into various aspects of neurological functioning and can be used to detect certain tumors. They are the Standard of Care to monitor individuals that have a family history of, or may be at risk for glaucoma. We also monitor individuals that have been diagnosed with glaucoma to watch for changes to ensure proper ongoing medication and treatment. At Suter Brook Optometry Clinic our doctors work with your ophthalmologist to ensure the highest level of care.

Diagnostic tests for glaucoma may be partially or even fully covered by BC Medical Services Plan. Further coverage through one’s employee benefits, or private supplemental insurance may apply. Please refer to your individual provider for details.
